How To Decorate Your Home For Autumn

The nights are drawing in, the temperature is dropping, and the leaves are tumbling from the trees… it’s autumn! And if you love autumn as much as I do, check out our tips on how to bring some cosy autumnal decorating into your home.

1 – Spruce Up Your Coffee Table

There’s nothing better when it’s raining outside than a warm cup of coffee, listening to the rain pattering against the windowpanes. Whether you’re chilling with friends, having a date night, or enjoying some solitude, you’ll be spending a lot of the cooler months in your living room. Give your coffee table a new lease on life with some new coffee table legs.

2 – Embrace Warm Colours

Autumn decorations typically come in brown, yellow, orange, and red. If it’s a colour on a leaf, then you’re good to go! There’s no need to repaint your whole house or replace all your furniture, just accessorise with planters, room dividers, and blankets.

3 – Have a Tidy Up

Your home feels fantastic after a spring clean, but an autumn clean is also highly recommended. Take a weekend and perform a deep clean. You can also get your autumn/winter clothes out of the attic… or hold onto the hope of summer for a bit longer.

4 – Make The Most of Your Nights In

Sometimes you’ll have too many people to fit around a coffee table. Whether you are pumpkin carving, hosting a birthday party, or having a games night, using a folding table will provide you with room for extra guests. Plus, it is easy to store it away when they’ve gone home.

5 – Celebrate What Makes You Happy

Autumn is my favourite season, but some people struggle with the longer nights and dark mornings. Remind yourself of what makes you happy be creating cube storage displays. You could showcase photos of your friends, mementos from your holidays, or your book collection. Whatever makes you see it and smile.

6 – Get The Children Involved

If you have children, you can get them involved in the autumn spirit by creating kid’s storage displays. You can use a shelf for a nature treasure hunt (different coloured leaves, acorns, pine cones, conkers), a shelf for their Halloween costume, a shelf for harvest festival donations, and a shelf for artwork. Keep a couple of fabric storage boxes free for their belongings as well.

There you have it, our top six ways to make your home feel autumnal. Perfect for cosy nights in.
